James Gary Ferris kept the thread from disappearing.

James G. Ferris—George Washington Gale Ferris Jr.’s great-great-nephew—was a longtime genealogical researcher and steward of the family record. He consolidated public records, memorials, links, notes, and obituaries into four immense research corpora.

Daniel Robert Ferris and his sons, Cory Daniel Ferris and Benjamin James Ferris, form a surviving surname-bearing branch documented through Frederick Hyde Ferris. Joel Banta joins through his mother, Debra Dee Ferris, the sister of James G. Ferris.
